I bought my first Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (8GB) in 2018; thinking “What an amazing way to read without having to carry all the deadweight around!”
However, changing human behaviour is an irrationally slow and reluctant process.
In 2025 (it took that long!!), I finally started to appreciate all the benefits a simple Amazon Kindle Paperwhite could bring – especially with all my travelling (Yes!!) ✈️ and I am loving it 🧠

The seamless integration of “constantly reading” into my daily actions cannot be achieved without the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. I cannot think of another way to read whenever and wherever I want 🧠
In the past, I had insisted on carrying a bigger bag so I could “potentially” read on the go. The problem is that:
- sometimes reading didn’t come up during the trip – what a waste of all the effort! ✈️
- I can only carry 1-2 books for long trips – and I often don’t know if I will like them!! 🏖️
- A big bag just doesn’t go with the look I was aiming for a nice elegant dinner look 🥂

👀 Kindle is Better for the Eyes Compared to Phone or Tablets☝️
After traditional books, E-readers such as Kindle are the next best thing due to their paper display technology that mimics ink on print. It causes less strain on the eye than LCD screens (e.g. phones, laptops, tablets, etc.).
However, e-readers are still not recommended close to bedtime as the blue light emitted could negatively impact sleep.
